Micah Kane, Advisory Council Member

Micah Kane is currently a member of the Board of Trustees, Kamehameha Schools. The Board is composed of five individuals who are equally vested with the responsibility and duty of collectively carrying out the testamentary Will of Bernice Pauahi Bishop. The purpose of the Board is to set policy.

Previously, Mr. Kane was Chairman of the Hawaiian Homes Commission and the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands. The Hawaiian Homes Commission was created by federal act in 1921 and was the result of many years of work by Hawaii¹s Representative to Congress, Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole. The mandate of the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act is to rehabilitate native Hawaiians, specifically those who are at least 50% native Hawaiian, through land stewardship.

He served as the Chairman and Executive Director of the Hawaii Republican Party and prior to that was the government liaison for the Building Industry Association of Hawaii.

Mr. Kane is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools, Menlo College, and received his MBA from the University of Hawaii.
